Middle School Band is finishing their first big hurdle as young instrumentalists. They have nearly mastered the first five notes on their respective instruments and will be building on this foundation over the coming weeks. Today they worked in small groups to review!
Elementary music displaying music they have written utilizing the elements of rhythm studied in unit 1! They have learned a time signature, quarter and eighth notes, quarter rest, double bar and repeat signs.
Students practiced coding by creating a virtual dance party!

Members of the community donated money to help provide a book each to month to each student. Fourth graders are excited to read The Watsons Go to Birmingham this month!
Elementary Music students are busy wrapping up their first unit! Our day starts with silent listening (mindfulness). Then 5-7 daily activities! We have learned 3-5 songs, our first unit of rhythm, hello and goodbye in Spanish! The 4th and 5th grade have also learned Soundtrap!

The Spartan high school volleyball game scheduled for this evening has been cancelled.
2nd Graders are celebrating completing the book Charlotte's Web by watching the movie and eating curly fries (pig tails).
General Music students have been working on creating a recording studio with one of the classroom offices. Today they were asked to sit down and experiment with recording a podcast with no preset parameters. Emalee Haden, and Remington Dennis, seem to be having a blast!
